Profile of the Chairman of FELCRA Berhad
YB Datuk Haji Ahmad Jazlan holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of West Scotland, United Kingdom, as well as, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) and a Professional Diploma in Entrepreneurship (Level 4) from the London Examinations Board (LEB).
Between 2015 and 2018, he shouldered the responsibility as Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development.
He led the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) as Chairman between 2020 and 2021, as well as, the National Kenaf and Tobacco Board (LKTN) as its Chairman between 2015 and 2016. Between 2013 and 2015, he took on the responsibility of Chairman of the Kelantan State Sports Council. He also led the Kelantan State Football Association (KAFA) as its President between 2004 and 2007.
YB Datuk Haji Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub also plays a proactive role in social efforts and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Beginning 2018 to date, he has been undertaking the responsibilities of Senior Assistant Honorary Commissioner of the Malaysian Prisons Department. Since 2017 to date, he also carries the role of Assistant Honorary Commissioner of RELA Malaysia (RELA). Between 2017 and 2018, he assumed the responsibility of Deputy Minister Mentor for Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) and also Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). From 2016 and to date, he has also shouldered the responsibility of Honorary Assistant Commissioner of Civil Defense (APM).
YB Datuk Haji Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub was awarded the Darjah Panglima Jasa Negara (P.J.N) in 2010, which carries the title of Datuk, for his services to the Nation.
In 2017, he was awarded the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (D.C.S.M), which carries the title of Datuk Wira, for his efforts in bringing rural well-being development to the State of Melaka.
In the same year, he was awarded the Darjah Jiwa Mahkota Kelantan Yang Amat Mulia (D.J.M.K), which carries the title of Dato’, for his services in the development of various sectors, especially youth and sports for the State of Kelantan.
YBhg. Datuk Yatimah Sarjiman, was appointed to the Board of Directors of FELCRA Berhad on the 1st, May of the year 2019, as it is Independent Non-Executive Director.
She received her education at Idaho State University, USA, and was conferred a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting Information System cum Computer Information System in the year 1987. She later went on to pursue further education to gain a Master of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance cum International Business in the year 1989.
She has garnered over 30 years of experience in the fields of planning, formulating and implementing public policies on human resource management and organisation, financial resources, economy, administration and development of the region, social administration, international relations and foreign affairs resilience and brings into FELCRA Berhad a wealth of expertise covering rural development and management, international industrial structure, plantation industry and women empowerment.
Edham Reza Shah is one of the leading practitioners in banking and corporate advisory and Islamic Finance & Takaful matters. He has immense experience advising several financial institutions and investment banks including development financial institutions local and abroad. Edham undertakes a wide scope of works including syndication and club deal transactions, capital market and sukuk issuance, and other Shariah and Islamic Economy advisory services. He continues to advise on numerous corporate exercises in relation to cross border financing to protect Malaysian and clients’ interest abroad and familiar with various legal structures and framework abroad.
He has also led and developed the Firm’s practice in Islamic Finance & Takaful and have been advising many major Islamic Financial Institutions such as Maybank Islamic Berhad, SME Bank, MBSB Bank Berhad, , CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad, Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad, EXIM Bank Berhad, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, and several other notable Labuan and foreign based banks.
Upon his appointment as one of the Managing Partners of Abdul Rahman & Partners in 2017, his main responsibilities are:
- Heading the Firm’s entire Banking, Corporate, Real Estate and non-contentious exercise undertaken by the Firm;
- Looking after the Firm’s internal control mechanism on Administration, Finances and General Affairs;
- Consolidating and looking after the Firm’s Group HR and Operations among its network of branches including digitalizing the Firm’s practice;
He holds the triple distinction of being named as a Leading Lawyer by the global publication Islamic Finance News in 2009, 2011 and 2012. In 2012, he was also named in the categories of Asset & Fund Management, Corporate & Commercial and Cross Border. In recognition of his contribution to the Islamic Finance Industry, Edham has also been appointed to sit as a panel member of Asian International Arbitration Centre where Edham arbitrates on matters pertaining to Islamic Banking and Financial Services since 2013. In addition, he has served on numerous boards and foundation, including as independent non-executive board member of one the largest Islamic co-operative bank in Malaysia.
In addition, he has also been appointed and currently a Commissioner for Oaths since 2016..
Edham was appointed as Partner in 2007 and became one of the Joint Managing Partners of Abdul Rahman & Partners in 2017 and predominantly based in Kuala Lumpur.
In 2020, Edham has been selected to represent Malaysia by Fulbright Commission USA to participate in the 2020-2021 Fulbright Professional Exchange Program.
